Dr Muzammil Quraishi
Senior Lecturer, University of Salford
This seminar explores the significance of a rising UK Muslim prison population as a criminological case study.
It centres upon a number of core themes prompted by the small but growing literature in this field. Dr Quraishi concentrates upon exploring the dynamics of the Muslim incarcerated population; the significance of a multi-faith prison agenda; the securitisation and radicalisation debate and the role of Muslim prison Chaplains. Please note that, due to an error, the introduction to the seminar is not included in the recording.
